Scarecrows have been gathering in Vesper for the past few years. Apparently our pleasant, rural, farm community and wonderful (to scarecrows) climate have made Vesper an attractive vacation destination for scarecrows after harvest time has come and gone. After protecting gardens all summer and into the fall, they deserve a break, and Vesper is the place to go!
It is for this reason that scarecrows worldwide have agreed that Vesper is the ideal location to hold the International Convention of Scarecrows. This year is the inaugural convention of what organizers hope will become a yearly event.
A number of topics have been discussed this year. The following is an official press release from the International Convention of Scarecrows, as given to a small, privileged group of students at Vesper Community Academy:
The International Convention of Scarecrows arrived by crow in Vesper, Wisconsin this week. The scarecrows will be discussing living conditions, food, clothing, stuffing, and providing better guest homes for mice.
Dancing Doris, representative of Vesper, the host city, said, "This is a once in a lifetime chance to see visitors from all over the world just 'hanging out' in Vesper."
Come for a visit!
Stay tuned for more information and press releases from the official International Convention of Scarecrows spokespeople. Future communications are promised to the students of Vesper Community Academy.
