Outdoor Education Group in the Garden

Today we went to see what the Outdoor Education group was doing. They were going out into the garden to count how many squash they had. Then they were going to see how long those squash would last in our school lunches.



Next week the group is going to take soil samples of the soil in the garden. They will learn how much sand, silt, and loam is in the garden. If it's not good soil or doesn't have the nutrients that the plants need, they will die. Also, some plants grow better in certain types of soil.

At the end of class today the group was going to go on the computers and research a project they are going to do in the winter. When it's winter nothing is growing, so they will have an indoor project to work on. Their teacher said they would be building something. We wonder what that project might be? Maybe the group will tell us next week.
